UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE PICTURE

FIND WHAT FITS

ADJUST AS YOU GROW

“How do I know what will actually help?”

You’ve researched, tried different strategies, and maybe even tried therapy before. But when you or someone you love is still struggling, it can be hard to know what to do next.

Sometimes the answer isn’t more of the same. It’s taking a closer look at the whole picture and figuring out what kind of support makes sense right now.

That’s where your Care Map begins.

We help you understand what’s getting in the way and build a personalized path forward.

What Is a Care Map & How Does It Work?

What is a Care Map?

A Care Map is a personalized plan built around what you or your family actually need. Instead of assuming weekly therapy is always the answer, we look at the whole picture: what’s happening, what you’ve already tried, what’s getting in the way, and what you want to change.

Your Care Map may include individual therapy, extended sessions, parent support, skill building, groups, neurofeedback, Precision Therapy Intensives, KAP or psychedelic integration, or a combination of services.

We start by getting curious. Together, we identify your goals, strengths, challenges, patterns, and the areas where support could make the biggest difference.

From there, we recommend a path forward and explain why we think it fits. Your Care Map isn’t set in stone. We pay attention to what’s working, what isn’t, and what has changed, then adjust your support as your needs evolve.

The goal isn’t more therapy. It’s the right support, at the right time, for the things that matter most.

What Can Be Part of Your Care Map?

Your Care Map is built around what you need, not a preset package. Depending on your goals, it may include one or more of the following:

Individual therapy provides dedicated space to work through anxiety, trauma, grief, relationships, life transitions, emotional patterns, or whatever is getting in the way. Sessions are personalized to your goals and may draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches.

Therapy may be ongoing, short-term, or used at different points in your Care Map. Weekly therapy doesn’t have to be the default. Together, we decide what frequency and approach make sense for the work you’re doing.

Sometimes 45 minutes simply isn’t enough. 80 minute extended sessions provide more time for focused therapeutic work without the structure of a full intensive.

These sessions can be especially helpful for Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), trauma-focused work, or when you want more space to work through a specific experience or pattern without feeling rushed by the clock.

Children don’t always process their experiences through words. Child therapy may incorporate play, art, sand tray, movement, skill building, and other developmentally appropriate approaches based on how your child naturally connects, communicates, and learns.

At Stay Mindful Therapy, we begin with parents before meeting with your child so we can understand the whole picture and determine what kind of support may be most helpful.

Sometimes helping your child means supporting you, too. Parent support can help you better understand what’s underneath your child’s behavior, respond to big emotions, strengthen communication, and create an environment that supports change.

There is also room for what parenting brings up in you, including stress, fears about your child’s future, your own childhood experiences, and patterns you want to approach differently.

Sometimes you don’t need more insight. You need a chance to learn and practice what actually helps.

Individual skill-building sessions provide focused, practical support for areas such as executive functioning, emotional regulation, coping, communication, routines, organization, and everyday challenges. Skill building may complement therapy or be recommended as a different kind of support altogether.

Groups create opportunities to learn, practice, connect, and grow alongside people navigating similar experiences. Depending on the group, the focus may include skill building, relationships, parenting, grief, emotional wellness, or shared life experiences.

Groups may be recommended as part of a Care Map or used as a standalone source of support.

Neurofeedback is a gentle, noninvasive form of brain training that can be used on its own or alongside other services. We use NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback, which provides real-time information to the brain through brief interruptions in music while you relax.

Neurofeedback is offered as a standalone wellness service and is separate from psychotherapy. It may also be incorporated into a Care Map when it fits your goals and preferences.

Precision Therapy Intensives offer concentrated therapeutic work around one specific issue, experience, or pattern. Rather than automatically spreading focused work across weeks of traditional sessions, we create dedicated space to identify a clear target, prepare intentionally, and work more deeply.

An intensive may be recommended when concentrated work makes more sense than traditional session-by-session therapy. Intensives are personalized, and specific therapeutic outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines psychotherapy with ketamine prescribed by an independent medical provider for appropriate adult clients. The altered state created by ketamine may offer a different way to explore emotions, experiences, beliefs, and patterns within a supported therapeutic setting.

KAP is not appropriate for everyone. When considered as part of a Care Map, medical eligibility and therapeutic readiness are assessed separately before treatment begins.

Psychedelic preparation and integration provide therapeutic support before and after psychedelic medicine experiences.

Preparation sessions can help you explore your intentions, expectations, concerns, emotional readiness, and the support you may need before medicine work. Afterward, integration sessions provide space to process the experience, make meaning of what emerged, and explore how insights or changes might be thoughtfully carried into everyday life.

Preparation and integration do not involve providing, prescribing, or administering psychedelic medicine. These services may be included in your Care Map when they fit your goals and circumstances.

We work together, bringing different perspectives and approaches to help you find what fits. Because you don’t need another one-size-fits-all answer. You need people who will pay attention, think creatively, and help you find what actually works.

Our Approach

How Your Care Map Works

Your Care Map begins with understanding where you are now and where you want things to be different. From there, we build a personalized path forward and adjust it as your needs change.

We Understand the Whole Picture

We start by listening closely. We look at what’s happening, what you’ve already tried, what’s working, what isn’t, and what you or your family hope will change.

We Build Your Care Map

Together, we identify where support may make the biggest difference. Your Care Map might include therapy, skill building, parent support, groups, neurofeedback, extended sessions, an intensive, or another approach that fits your goals.

We Put the Plan Into Practice

Then we begin the work. Instead of adding services just because they’re available, we focus on the support that makes sense for you right now and how the different pieces can work together.

We Pay Attention & Adjust

Your Care Map isn’t set in stone. We pay attention to what’s helping, what still feels stuck, and what has changed. As you make progress, we adjust the plan so your care continues to fit where you are now.

Frequently Asked Questions About Care Maps

Not exactly. A treatment plan typically focuses on the goals and interventions within psychotherapy. A Care Map looks more broadly at what you or your family need and how different types of support might work together. Therapy may be part of your Care Map, but it doesn’t have to be the only part.

Not at all. The goal is not to give you more things to do. Your Care Map may include one type of support or a combination of services based on what makes sense for your goals, needs, and circumstances.

Depending on your needs, your Care Map may include individual or child therapy, extended therapy sessions, parent support, individual skill building, groups, neurofeedback, Precision Therapy Intensives, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, or psychedelic preparation and integration.

That’s okay too. You don’t have to start from scratch or use multiple services. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, make sure the service is appropriate for your needs, and help you determine the best way to get started.

Absolutely. In fact, we expect it to. As things improve, new challenges emerge, or your priorities change, we’ll revisit what’s working and adjust your Care Map. The goal is for your care to evolve with you rather than continuing the same approach simply because that’s where you started.

What You Can Expect From a Personalized Care Map

A Care Map gives you a clearer understanding of what you’re working toward, what kind of support may help, and how the different pieces of your care can work together.

WHILE EVERY PERSON AND FAMILY IS DIFFERENT, A PERSONALIZED APPROACH TO CARE CAN HELP CREATE:
Greater Clarity

You have a better understanding of what’s getting in the way, what you want to change, and why certain types of support may make sense.

Instead of defaulting to weekly therapy or staying with an approach that isn’t helping, we focus care around what may make the biggest difference. By combining supports when appropriate, such as therapy, skill building, neurofeedback, or more focused therapeutic work, your Care Map is designed to help you use your time intentionally and may reduce the need for longer-term therapy.

Your Care Map can include opportunities to learn and practice skills that translate beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

When more than one type of support is helpful, the different pieces of your Care Map can work together toward shared goals rather than feeling disconnected.

Your care can change as you do. Services, frequency, and areas of focus can be adjusted as your needs and priorities evolve.

You’ll learn to incorporate the insights gained from therapy and any psychedelic experiences into your daily life, leading to more intentional living and personal growth.

Instead of wondering what you should try next, you have a clearer path forward and people helping you evaluate what’s working along the way.

Care designed to help you move forward, not stay in therapy longer than you need to.
